In order to ensure your microphone and playback are tuned just right WebTrain has created an advanced Audio Setting control.  This helpful control allows you to set and configure your Recording and Playback volumes, your Audio Delay (if required), and your Recording and Playback Devices.  There is even a Microphone test available so that you can record your own voice and have it played back to you so you hear how your microphone sounds.

WebTrain has several audio modes available that the host of the room can use.

• Microphone passing: This is the simplest and most common of the three methods.  While using microphone passing the person with the microphone can speak while everyone else listens.  The host can pass the microphone to any of the room participants so they can speak.  In a variation of microphone passing, a participant can grab the microphone for themselves and speak.  It is up to the host to decide if they want to allow microphone grabbing or not.
• Headsets: The host of the room can pass out headsets to as many people in the room as desired.  All of these people are able to speak at any time, by depressing their Talk button.  This method works well for small meetings or when there are not a large number of speakers.
• Private VoiceChat: Private conversations are also available.  These can be started by first starting a Private Voicechat with another participant.  Multiple Private VoiceChats can occur within the same meeting room.

WebTrain communication software uses only standards based port 443 for client/server meeting connections.  Port 443 is the standard port for HTTPS sessions, it is always open for clients to connect to a meeting.  This means connectivity is supported without making changes to proxies or firewalls.

When clients are hosting or participating in a virtual meeting, all data is 128 bit encrypted before transmission.  Therefore, as the data packets hop from router to router to the final destination, the data is indecipherable.

The industry standard SSL encoding technique is a negotiated process, usually using a public/private key pair (128 bit is usual) for the encryption process.  Without the 128 bit key, it is impossible to unencrypt the data.

To-date, the world is currently safe using 128 bit encryption; this standard has never been "hacked".  Using WebTrain and industry standard SSL encryption, you can be confident your meeting data remains private as it hops down the public Internet highway.

For your protection, all WebTrain logon and purchase functions are HTTPS secured.  In order to perform secure HTTPS (SSL) sessions, a certificate is required.  WebTrain uses SSL certificate issued by Thawte, a leading provider of SSL encryption certificates.  Thawte is synonymous with Trust; an SSL certificate issued by a Thawte ensures logon and purchase functions are secure.  Internet Explorer has built-in trust for Thawte certificates.

To ensure only unaltered components are deployed, WebTrain software is distributed in VeriSigned CAB and MSI files, ensuring that you get only originally signed components.  VeriSign is a trust certification organization which provides authenticity certificates to software developers who wish to undergo an approval process to ensure people are who they say they are.  Internet Explorer has built-in trust for VeriSign certificates.

The WebTrain conference recorder feature is very easy to use.  With just a few clicks of your mouse you can begin recording your meeting and stop at any point.  All audio and visuals presented in the meeting are recorded for later playback.  The web conference recorder even records any other applications that you might use during the course of your meeting.  To get the participant view of things bring an extra recording PC into the meeting to make your recording.
