When a course is defined on WebTrain, an optional private message board may be assigned to the course.  When students enroll in the course, they will automatically be granted read/write access to the board.  Membership access can be more limiting (read only) if desired.

A classroom message board provides a 24x7 asynchronous means for students to communicate with the teacher.  Messages are organized by separate discussions (threaded), and postings can be public or private.  Students can post private replies and attach their papers or homework for later review.  The teacher can post grades, results, homework assignments as well as retrieve and review messages and homework attachments students have posted.

All attachments posted to the class message board, whether posted by a student or the teacher, are server side virus scanned to prevent someone from distributing an infected document.  When a virus is found in an attachment, the attachment is destroyed.
